Treadwell Plans To Check Out Oklahoma State

One prospect that has been on the recruiting radar for a long time is wide receiver LaQuon Treadwell of Crete-Monee, Ill. The explosive big pass catcher has been on Oklahoma State's radar even longer because of his uncle, former Cowboys All-American linebacker Ricky Young. Young has been talking up the Cowboys to Treadwell for some time.

"Yes, he tells me about Oklahoma State and I've been watching them, and they have a really good team, and they throw the ball a lot and that is good," said Laquon Treadwell, who agreed he was the fleet skill position player in the family compared to his linebacker uncle, who was a middle linebacker at Oklahoma State.

"I am going to come down there spring break with him and check out OSU, and also check out OU."

The 6-3, 190-pound Treadwell, who just finished up basketball season a couple of weeks ago, is now into track and will compete in the long jump and high jump. Those are two very explosive events, and on his tape you can see how his vertical and his power really factor into his game.

Treadwell has offers from Oklahoma State and OU, but also a lot of other schools including Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Notre Dame, USC, and Vanderbilt.

"Recently Alabama is another offer that I have, and UCLA just offered," said Treadwell. "Ohio State is a school that I am going to visit soon. I want to go up there and see it."

Treadwell caught 75 passes for over 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. As a sophomore, he had 49 catches for 825 yards and seven touchdowns.
