Austin Is Hoping For OSU Offer

Dakota Austin was very thankful for one thing he avoided. The 5-11, 170-pound speedy cornerback prospect at Lancaster High School in the DFW Metroplex said last week's tornados that tossed around massive trailers and tore through a number of neighborhoods missed his family's home.

"It was about a mile away," said Austin. "That is too close. I was at school at the time and it was a crazy day because there was a lot of damage in our area."

Austin said there is something he would like to see visit his home soon.

"I am waiting on an offer from Oklahoma State," said Austin when asked to give us an update as to where he is with his recruitiment. "Texas Tech offered me on Junior Day, and now I am waiting on an offer from Oklahoma State. Those are my top schools."

Austin has also been recruited by other schools including Baylor, Oklahoma and LSU. His top scholarship offer so far is from Texas Tech. This week he will be involved in track and field.

"Track is going good and I think we are tops in the area," said Austin. "Our jumping is really good and we have a chance to win some this week. The district meet is on Tuesday and Wednesday and it is at our place."

After track ends, which could be awhile for Austin, then it will be on to spring football.
