Khari Harding Has OSU Bloodlines

Oklahoma State fans have to hope bloodlines runs deep this weekend as defensive standout Khari Harding of Edmond (Santa Fe), Okla., is expected to be at Boone Pickens Stadium for the Cowboys Spring Football Finale.

The 6-2, 205-pound hard-hitting safety tackles more like a linebacker but he had three interceptions last season, one he returned for a touchdown.

Harding is the son of former OSU linebacker Corey Harding and the nephew of former Cowboys defensive lineman Rodney Harding. His uncle also went on to be an All-CFL performer in the Canadian Football League.

Harding has been contacted by a number of schools and has attended Junior Days at Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. He was recently at Kansas State and Tulsa for unofficial visits.

Harding has offers from Arkansas, Arkansas State, Houston, Indiana, Kansas State, and Wyoming. It is likely he will receive an offer from Oklahoma State as soon as this weekend.

Last season Harding added 71 tackles to his three interceptions as a ring leader on that Santa Fe defense that helped the Wolves get to the Class 6A quartefinals.

With the likes of speedy Trevan Smith (younger brother of NFL safety Reggie Smith), running back Phillip Sumpter (who rushed for 666 yards despite injuries), and quarterback Justice Hansen (just under 3,100 yards of total offense) returning as teammates, Santa Fe has an excellent chance to challenge for the state championship.

It will be interesting to see how the recruiting process develops this weekend with Harding and Oklahoma State.
