Clay Rhodes Receives Offer From Cowboys

One of the top prospects in Kansas is Blue Valley High School offensive tackle Clay Rhodes. Rhodes said he likely made his last unofficial visit to a school on Saturday where he collected a scholarship offer from Oklahoma State, to go along with others from Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Tulsa, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Purdue.

The 6-6, 265-pound Clay Rhodes said the offer from Oklahoma State was exciting.

"Well, I started talking to Coach (Joe) Wickline about two and a half weeks ago and he invited me to come for the spring game," said Rhodes on Sunday. "We pulled in and I got to talk personally with Coach Wickline, and then I got to meet with Coach (Mike) Gundy in his office, and I really like him. They told me I had a scholarship offer."

Rhodes, who has a 320-pound bench press max and a 450-pound squat max and is a post player for Blue Valley in basketball, was making his first trip to Stillwater.

"I loved it," he said. "It was exciting to see that many people at a spring football game. It was like the whole town just headed over to see the game. It reminded me of Lawrence a little, but with better football. Outside there was a lot of grilling and people around. It was exciting."

Rhodes said that was likely his last visit this spring and that he thought he would make his decision soon.
