Thompson Makes Trip To Oklahoma State

One of the better offensive line prospects in the Houston area is Kenneth Thompson out of Langham Creek High School. The 6-4, 285-pound Thompson made his way to Stillwater this past Saturday for the Cowboys Spring Football Finale.

"It was pretty good," said Thompson of the visit. "It was enjoyable. I love Oklahoma State, love the stadium, love the campus, and the locker room is unbelievable. I really like everything, and I have heard that Joe Wickline is really a great coach."

Thompson has already been offered by former Oklahoma State offensive line coach Ronnie Vinklarek at Rice, and he is getting attention from the likes of Arkansas, Kansas, TCU, and Oklahoma State.

His high school coach has told him that Oregon is interested, and that Texas came into the school and was asking about him last week. He skipped an invite to Arkansas's spring game to attend the one at OSU. He has a 365-pound max on the bench press and a 305-pound on the clean.

Thompson has also shown his explosive nature this spring by qualifying for regionals in track and field with the shot put. He is a self-taught shot putter as his school does not have a coach for it.

"My best throw is 50 feet, but we looked on YouTube to teach ourselves the technique and how to throw," added Thompson.

A very good student, he said he is very interested in Oklahoma State. He is just sitting back in recruiting to see which schools really are interested and eventually offer, and then he'll go about making his decision.
