Xavier Woods Likes What He Sees In Stillwater

Defensive back Xavier Woods of West Monroe, La., showed off a little on Saturday at Oklahoma State's half-day minicamp as he ran under 4.5, and also did well in drills and one-on-one work in the camp. The 5-11, 185-pound Woods helped West Monroe claim the 5A state championship last season defeating Carencro in the title game. He likes being on a big and important stage.

"It was a great camp," said Woods. "My best camp yet. I'd been to Alabama for a four-day camp, but this was my best camp, and I think I can do better. I know I can. It was great as far as OSU. The complex was great. I like all the facilities and everything. The coaches and the way they teach was good for me."

Last season, Woods had 43 tackles and picked off five passes playing defense. On offense, he had seven receptions in spot duty for 233 yards and three touchdowns.

He already has scholarship offers from Houston, Stanford and Tulane, but that list is bound to grow.

"In July I am going to Georgia Tech, Georgia, and LSU," added Woods.

He will wrap up with maybe a trip back to Oklahoma State and TCU.
