"On Friday, we flew in and we sat in on team meetings and then watched the walk thru that afternoon. Then we ate with the team, and on Saturday we went through all the pregame meetings and everything and then watched the festivities and we were down on the field for the warm-ups and then watched the game," said White.
White said the crowd and the atmosphere was incredible and that had a lasting impact. After the game they hung out with the players.
"We had two players hosting us, Blake Jackson and Dominic Ramacher," said White. "The thing that really stood out from the weekend was how tight the players are as a group. They are really a team that gets along with each other, and it was like they knew me and Jordan, as if we'd been teammates for a long time. They let us in."
White said he and Cunningham met with their recruiting coach, Doug Meacham, early Sunday morning before departing Stillwater to fly home. On Saturday, White said he met with offensive coordinator Todd Monken and Cunningham met with wide receivers coach Kasey Dunn.
Cunningham has accumulated over 45 offers including Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, Stanford, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Ohio State, OU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas Tech, USC, and West Virginia. The first five schools listed, plus Oklahoma State, make up his most recent top six.
He has other visits planned, but White said he really liked Oklahoma State.
White has scholarship offers from Western Illinois and Stetson with interest from Oklahoma State, Indiana, Missouri and Eastern Kentucky.
University High plays a key district game this week, and will celebrate homecoming when they host Chaminade. White said it is a huge game for the team.
University is 3-0 so far this season. White has completed 50-of-74 passing for 68 percent and 491 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions. Cunningham, who has more than 125 career receptions for over 2,000 yards, has 14 catches this season for 178 yards and two of White's touchdown tosses.
