Future Cowboys: How They Looked This Week

It was another outstanding week for the high school teams of the players who will one day be playing on the turf at Boone Pickens Stadium. The future Oklahoma State Cowboys won 11 of 14 games this weekend. Included among those victories were those by scores of 54-14, 63-14 and 57-14, and offensive line commit Zach Crabtree helped his Mansfield High School squad upset a previously undefeated team.

Marcell Ateman, WR (6-4, 190)
East High School (Wylie, Texas)
This week's game: Ateman had four catches for 59 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown reception on the game's final play, but it wasn't enough as Sherman defeated Wylie East 49-38 on Friday night. Through six games, Ateman has 40 receptions for 721 yards (18.0 yards per catch) for 11 touchdowns.

ZACH CRABTREE, OL (6-7, 260)
Mansfield High School (Mansfield, Texas)
This week's game: Crabtree and the offensive line did the job Friday night as Mansfield had 345 rushing yards, including 237 by Julius Lewis, in a 49-35 victory over previously undefeated Midlothian. Mansfield improves to 3-3 with the win.

DARIUS CURRY, CB (6-1, 190)
Flowery Branch High School (Flowery Branch, Ga.)
This week's game: Curry, who is used as a running back, ran for an 87-yard touchdown on the second play from scrimmage as Flowery Branch rolled to an easy 54-14 victory over Winder. The Falcons have now won five in a row heading into a tough three-game stretch at the end of the regular season.

LUKE DEL RIO, QB (6-2, 195)
Valor Christian High School (Highlands Ranch, Colo.)
This week's game: Del Rio was perfect, completing 12 of 12 passes for 196 yards and four touchdowns, in Valor Christian's 49-7 victory over Doherty on Friday night. For the season, Del Rio is now 95 of 141 passing (67.4 percent) for 1,094 yards with 12 touchdowns and two interceptions.

This week's game: Irving (2-4) picked up a 27-24 victory over Grapevine on Friday night.

This week's game: Ross had seven catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns (but should have a third but it was nullified when he was flagged for celebrating before he crossed the end zone) as John Tyler rolled to a 63-14 victory over Corsicana on Friday night. Ross had scoring catches of 47 and 23 yards. For the season, he has 24 catches for 504 yards (21.0 average) and eight touchdowns.

RA'SHAAD SAMPLES, WR (5-11, 170)
Skyline High School (Dallas, Texas)
This week's game: Samples caught four passes for 74 yards and three touchdowns in Skyline's 57-14 victory over Richardson Pearce on Friday night. Samples caught scoring passes of 9, 38 and 15 yards – all in the first 16 minutes of the game – as Skyline improves to 5-1.
