JUCO Safety Justin Cox To Visit This Weekend?

Eastern Mississippi Community College safety Justin Cox is considered by many to be the top junior college safety in the nation. So far this season he has helped the 7-0 Lions with three interceptions and 35 total tackles, 30 of those unassisted.

Out of West Point, Miss., originally he signed with Mississippi State out of high school. It is the Bulldogs and Ole Miss that Cox seems to show the most interest in.

At one time it was thought he would make an official visit on Oct. 19 to Oklahoma State as that was reported right after the Cowboys offered. The schedule fits as Eastern Mississippi plays Northwest Mississippi on Thursday night.

He is a December signee and also includes Arkansas on his list of schools most heavily recruiting him.

"I mean, I've worked real hard and ran all this summer, watched film, and I got me a spot," Cox told Fox Sports Next.com's Yancy Porter when asked about his development. "This has been a great experience for me."

The Lions are coming off a 49-0 shallacking of Northeast Mississippi in which Cox showed off.

"I've got speed and I'm a playmaker," said Cox when asked what he brought to the table for the team that gets him.

He is a big safety at 6-3, 190 pounds, and he's athletic. Just the kind that teams are really looking for.
