Richetti Jones: A Repeat Of 2008?

This is going to be the toughest game of the season for the Cowboys. When I think about this game it reminds me of the time when we upset No. 3 Missouri in 2008. The Cowboys have a chance to do the same this Saturday. I feel the upset coming as the Cowboys are playing their best football.

The Cowboys have picked the best time to start playing their best football, and that is what they are going to need to defeat the K-State Wildcats in their house. Collin Klein is the No. 1 player in the Heisman Trophy race and the Wildcats are the No. 2 team in the country. So the Cowboys are going to have their hands full.

However, I feel there is no need to worry. I have faith in the Cowboys. The Cowboys have the third-best rushing defense in the Big 12 and the 32nd-best rushing defense in the country.

That being said, all the Cowboys have to do is contain Collin Klein, and every time he runs make him pay for it. The defense has to make Klein one dimensional and make K-State beat them with the pass.

I am confident in the Cowboy defense because they have been playing lights out defense the last two weeks, which is a perfect situation for the Cowboys to be in going into this game playing a powerhouse like K-State. The offense is going to put up 30-plus points. We just need the defense to hold K-State under 30 points.

Something that makes me laugh every time I think about it is the fact that everybody is going to be rooting for the Cowboys to beat K-State. OU fans will especially be rooting for OSU this weekend because they need the Cowboys to beat the Wildcaets to have a chance of winning the Big 12 in another Bedlam showdown at the end of the season.

The Cowboys still control their destiny and they can still win the Big 12. They just have to win out. The key to doing this is staying focused, taking it one game and one week at a time, giving everything they have toward their opponents, leaving everything on the field each week, and then the Cowboys can repeat as Big 12 champs.
