Leveni Returns Home With Lots To Think About

Hurst (L.D. Bell), Texas defensive end Vili Leveni (La-vin-e) gave us a call back as he was at the Oklahoma City airport waiting to fly back home on Sunday after making an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend. The 6-4, 220-pound defensive end said he had a good time on his visit to Oklahoma State.

"It was great, (a) really good time," said Leveni. "I had spent a lot of time with the players and the coaches, and we saw all the facilities, basketball game (on Saturday), ate a lot of good food.

"I spent most of my time with Coach (Glenn) Spencer and Coach (Joe Bob) Clements, who are recruiting me. Then I was with Ryan (Simmons), the middle linebacker, and James Castleman. I hung out with them and with another recruit, Ofa (Hautau) from Utah."

Leveni, who had 41 tackles with 11 tackles for loss and three sacks this season, said he told the Utah coaches that he was going on the visit. Leveni is listed as a commitment to the Utes.

"I was honest with them, and they knew I was coming here," he said. "I have to go home and think about it and talk to my family. I talked to Coach (Mike) Gundy a lot before I left, and we talked about all the things, OSU, football. He was also at my home last week."

Leveni said he was expecting Spencer in his home this week, and you can be sure that the coaches from Utah will be in the Leveni home as well.
