Recruiting: 10 Questions With Deric Robertson is contacting as many Oklahoma State commitments as possible leading up to National Signing Day. What about Oklahoma State first caught your eye?
Robertson: About a year ago, I watched OSU when they beat Texas. I was liking Texas at the time. I just watched the game and I thought, ‘This is a real nice team, a real nice defense.' That was really when they first caught my eye.

What was your deciding factor in committing to the Cowboys?
Robertson: I just felt real comfortable with coach (Van) Malone throughout the recruiting process. When he came and talked to me, I felt really comfortable being around him. Once I finally got up there to see the campus and stuff, it really made me want to go there.

What are three words or phrases that describe you as a person?
Robertson: Funny, outgoing and happy.

What are three words or phrases that describe you as a football player?
Robertson: Fast, versatile and athletic.

What is your favorite thing to do on the football field?
Robertson: Tackling. I like to pop somebody now and then.

What is your favorite thing to do off the football field?
Robertson: Hang out with my friends.

If you don't go on to play in the NFL, what would you like to do?
Robertson: Something in sports management or sports marketing.

What are you most looking forward to in terms of playing for Oklahoma State?
Robertson: Being able to play in Boone Pickens (Stadium) with all the fans. I went to a couple games this year, it was real crazy.

What do you feel will be your biggest challenge in moving from high school to college?
Robertson: Getting adjusted to the game speed. That will probably be the biggest thing, because the Big 12 is a fast conference.

Who is the one player on Oklahoma State's roster, or in your recruiting class, that you are most excited to be teammates with next season?
Robertson: I would probably say Justin Gilbert. He's real fast. Fast people tend to usually get along well.
