What about Oklahoma State first caught your eye?
Bassett: My brother (Cooper Bassett) has gone to school to there, as you know. I've been able to enjoy the experience as a fan. Being around my brother and getting to go to all the home games and away games, to see the facilities, he's shown me around.

What was your deciding factor in committing to the Cowboys?
Bassett: It just seems really, really comfortable. A lot of the players my brother has been with, I know personally. It's going to make it easier for me. I don't have to go visit somewhere on an official visit, where I don't know the coaches that well. I know Oklahoma State and I know how great of a program Oklahoma State is. It's just a whole lot nicer.

Bassett: Leader, determined and a hard worker.

If you don't go on to play in the NFL, what would you like to do?
Bassett: I definitely want to stay within my sport. I want to be involved with football, whether as a coach, athletic trainer or strength coach. I definitely want to pursue what I love, and that's football.

What are you most looking forward to in terms of playing for Oklahoma State?
Bassett: I'm looking forward to everything. I'm looking forward to being there in the offseason, working out with my team, to be called a Cowboy. That gives you chills. To run out there at Boone Pickens Stadium, I've been the guy in the stands that's watched it the past five years. I'm just so excited to be out there on the field.

What do you feel will be your biggest challenge in moving from high school to college?
Bassett: Everything is going to be different. The physicality of the players, the athletic ability, the speed – every single player is going to be up to speed. In high school, you're used to being the fastest and biggest guy on the field. In college, it's going to be a humbling experience to realize every guy next to me is going to be just as fast, just as strong.

Who is the one player on Oklahoma State's roster, or in your recruiting class, that you are most excited to be teammates with next season?
Bassett: Kye Staley. My brother was in the same recruiting class when they came here. He's been an awesome guy to me. I'm excited to be on the same team as him. I want to see how he is out there on the field. I'm really excited for that.
