McGuinness QB Lewis Makes Impression

Quarterback Jacob Lewis of Oklahoma City (Bishop McGuinness), Okla., has been active on the minicamp circuit. In throwing drills at a camp in Dallas on March 17 he followed Texas commit Jerrod Heard out of Denton Guyer and looked strong comparably.

Jacob Lewis, according to an email we received from his father, is going to be back in the Dallas-Fort Worth area next weekend for the Elite 11 camp on April 6 and the Nike Invitational Camp on April 7.

As for schools, Lewis has been to several junior days and is planning to attend Oklahoma State's spring practice on Friday (a repeat visitor to Stillwater).

He is also set to make an unofficial visit to the University of New Mexico on April 12. Besides those two schools, Lewis is hearing from Memphis, Indiana, Stanford, Penn, Yale, TCU and Nebraska.

Last season at McGuinness, Lewis threw for 2,437 yards and 28 touchdowns as he completed 141-of-253 passes with just nine interceptions. He also carried the ball 214 times for 1,483 yards and 24 touchdowns. That's a combined run/pass total of 52 touchdowns!
