Cameron Sims Likes What He Sees At OSU

The Oklahoma State staff obviously liked what they saw in Cameron Sims out of Monroe (Ouachita Parish), La., as they offered the 6-4, 210-pound jumbo wide receiver a scholarship back in February. Now Sims had a chance to see if he was as impressed with the Cowboys when he made it to Stillwater on Saturday to eyeball the spring game.

"I thought it was real cool," said Cameron Sims of the day. "Everything impressed me but the spring game the whole time it seemed that they were throwing the football. I know they ran it some but it seemed like every play the quarterback was winding up and throwing it downfield."

Sims also liked what he saw from Oklahoma State off the field. "They did take us on a tour," he said. "The dorm was really nice. Everything was nice."

Sims also liked that he and other recruits got a lot of time to spend with the coaches and to talk with the current players.

The athletic Sims is not only 6-4, 210 pounds, but he runs a 4.6 in the forty and has a 37-inch vertical. Last season, he caught 37 passes for 917 yards and eight touchdowns. In basketball, he averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds and Louisiana-Monroe has offered him a scholarship to play both sports. They may not be alone.

He has football offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon, and USC that along with Oklahoma State are listed in his top interest range. Also offering are Arkansas, Auburn, California, Georgia Tech, ULL, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, TCU, Tennessee, Texas Tech and Washington.

"I haven't narrowed anything down," said Sims. "I am probably going to the spring game at Auburn on the 25th and then that's it for now."

Sims is just working out for football since basketball season ended and trying to view some of his recruiting options. He also has some spring football of his own coming up soon at Ouachita Parish.
