Arrion Springs Seeing, And Being Seen

Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer and the Cowboys staff has had some good fortune in recruiting the San Antonio area in recent years. They certainly would like to see that continue with Roosevelt High School cornerback Arrion Springs.

The talented Arrion Springs is a 5-11, 192-pound corner with 4.48 speed that already proven his ability with 63 tackles, four interceptions, a fumble recovery, and a sack last season, and 75 tackles and an interception as a sophomore.

Springs is in spring football right now and he is seeing a few schools drop by for a look.

"Nebraska and Michigan State were here last Friday, and Texas-San Antonio was here on Thursday," said Springs. "Oregon State said they will be here this week, and Oklahoma State was here last Wednesday. Texas has told me they will be coming down soon."

That is a smattering of the schools that have offered Springs. His list includes OSU, Baylor, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Memphis, Miami, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, OU, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas, Texas-San Antonio, Texas Tech, Tulsa, and Vanderbilt.

Springs gave no hint of narrowing down the field anytime soon and said his only plans at this point this summer is a trip to Miami to particpate in the Hurricanes football camp. His immediate plans are to keep on playing well with all these coaches stopping by.

"We've got a ways to go because I think our spring game is the last day of school after school," said Springs. "Our coach is making a big deal about it."

Right now, Springs is a big deal to a lot of schools as corners of his ability aren't that easy to find.
