"That was the last visit that I made, and that was about three weeks ago," said Rudolph. "Right now we are into spring practice (at Rock Hill Northwestern) and we are into our second week.
"I've been talking to people (coaches) as they come by. Yes sir, there have been a bunch that have been here for practices. It can be a little nerve wracking because you want to show up well in front of each of them."
That is not hard for Rudolph, who has a strong arm and is also very athletic with a 4.66 in the forty. Last season he completed 69 percent of his passes (346-of-504) for 4,010 yards with 41 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. As a sophomore, he completed 67 percent of his passes for 2,619 yards with 27 touchdowns and six interceptions. He can also run the ball and had 475 yards and 10 touchdowns rushing last season as a junior.
Curious, I asked him why he hasn't been hitting some of the national recruiting combines and competitions?
"Yes sir, I know you can get better going to some of those and I did go to some events in South Carolina, but some of those events were on the weekends that I made visits to schools," Rudolph explained.
"I'm really focused on playing on Friday nights for my team and my school and that is why I am so focused on spring football right now. I've been to college camps and I've shown what I can do there. For me, it is team and school now."
Rudolph and his teammates will finish up spring football a week from Friday with a 6 p.m. spring intrasquad scrimmage. As for this summer, I asked his plans and ended up getting a rundown on his recruiting right now.
"I was thinking I would get my decision before next season and I was thinking in August or maybe July. But now I think I will have my decision by the end of June at the latest," Rudolph revealed.
"I want to talk to my parents and get serious, but I think I will have it in the next three to four weeks. Right now it is Oklahoma State and LSU, Virginia Tech, and Ole Miss."
Rudolph did say LSU and OSU right now are a little ahead of the others because of how active they have been in recruiting him. I found Rudolph to be a very well spoken, intelligent and conversational individual.
Based on what you see on tape and what it appears you will get as a person off the field, whichever school gets that commitment will be very happy.
