Future Cowboys: How'd They Do This Week?

Future OSU Cowboys were making plays on both sides of the ball this weekend. Gyasi Akem forced a fumble and returned it 88 yards for a touchdown. Keenen Brown caught a pair of touchdown passes. Tyreek Hill was responsible for 309 yards of total offense. Chris Lacy caught 10 passes for 146 yards and two TDs. Broken Arrow High School (Broken Arrow, Okla.)
This week's game: Akem forced a fumble deep in Broken Arrow territory, picked it up and ran 88 yards for a touchdown as Broken Arrow defeated Putnam City 52-21 on Thursday night.

Ellsworth Community College (Iowa Falls, Iowa)
This week's game: It was not a good day for Ellsworth on Saturday as the Panthers lost 63-6 to Iowa Western. It was Ellsworth's fourth consecutive loss as the Panthers are now 2-6 on the season.

Jordan Brailford, DE (6-3, 210)
Booker T. Washington High School (Tulsa, Okla.)
This week's game: Brailford was all over the field Thursday night at the Booker T. Washington Hornets upset No. 7 Class 6A Owasso 36-20. The standout defensive end had nearly 12 tackles and two sacks as the Hornets improved to 5-2.

Keenen Brown, WR (6-3, 185)
Alief Taylor High School (Houston, Texas)
This week's game: Brown accounted for both of his team's touchdowns as Alief Taylor defeated Aldine Eisenhower 20-0 on Saturday. Brown caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Remi Olonade just three minutes into the game for a 7-0 lead and also had a 13-yard scoring reception in the fourth quarter. He finished with a game-best six catches for 120 yards and the two TDs. For the season, Brown has 28 receptions for 415 yards and five touchdowns.

Trinity High School (Euless, Texas)
This week's game: Galea'i and the Euless Trinity High offensive line was outstanding Thursday night in the 55-0 victory over L.D. Bell. Euless Trinity ran for 482 yards on 49 attempts (an average of 9.84 yards per carry), and had two 100-yard rushers as the Trojans won their fifth consecutive game.

Chris Hardeman, CB (5-9, 178)
Alief Taylor High School (Houston, Texas)
This week's game: Hardeman and his defensive teammates did the job Saturday night, limiting Aldine Eisenhower and future OSU teammate Trevion Roberts to 31 total yards and no first downs – yes, zero first downs – to help Alief Taylor to the 20-0 victory. The defense held Eisenhower to minus-21 rushing yards on 19 carries and intercepted three passes.

Jenks High School (Jenks, Okla.)
This week's game: Harding caught the only Jenks completions of the night, including a 38-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter, and was part of a defense that limited a previously undefeated Westmoore team to around 50 total yards of offense as the No. 1-ranked Class 6A Trojans won 24-0 on Friday night.

Garden City Community College (Garden City, Kan.)
This week's game: Hill put on a show as he had 309 yards as Garden City upset No. 11 Dodge City 41-22 on Saturday night. The Garden City speedster had 200 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 12 carries and also caught three passes for 109 yards and another TD as the Busters improved to 5-3 overall.

DeSoto High School (DeSoto, Texas)
This week's game: Lacy had caught just 16 passes in the first six games of the season but the standout receiver had a breakout game Friday night with 10 receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns in DeSoto's 62-42 victory over Midlothian. Lacy caught a 7-yard scoring pass in the first quarter to open the scoring and then had a 50-yard TD reception in the second quarter.

Hutchinson Community College (Hutchinson, Kan.)
This week's game: Hutchinson rallied from a 22-point deficit early in the second half to stage the biggest comeback in school history to defeat Fort Scott 63-39 on Saturday.

This week's game: Pearland's dominance continued Saturday night with a 56-12 victory over Pasadena South Houston. Pearland led 16-0 at the end of the first quarter and 42-0 at halftime, and the only mystery in the second half was whether the Oilers would record their fifth shutout of the season. That didn't happen as South Houston scored twice in the second half.

This week's game: Roberts went head-to-head against future Cowboys teammates Keenen Brown and Chris Hardeman of Alief Taylor on Saturday night, and it's probably a night Roberts would rather forget. Eisenhower finished with 31 total yards and no first downs as Roberts was 3-of-5 passing for 22 yards with one interception and also caught three passes for 26 yards.

This week's game: Rudolph threw a 30-yard touchdown pass as No. 1-ranked Northwestern won 42-20 over Fort Mill on Friday night. The Trojans, now 8-0, will face their toughest test of the season next Friday when York Comprehensive, also 8-0 following a 66-24 victory over Nation Ford, makes the trip to Rock HIll on Friday night.
