Trey Carter Liked His Visit To Stillwater

"We've got a big game this week," said Dallas (Pinkston), Texas defensive end Trey Carter of the Friday matchup with edge of the district DISD rival Seagoville. The 6-4, 255-pound Carter knows that his time to shine in high school is coming to a close. Pinkston is needing some wins to have a chance to edge into the playoffs.

"This is my first and only year at Pinkston. We moved here in June," explained Carter, who will be moving on to a Division I college football home next year. He played his previous high school football as a nose guard, defensive tackle and defensive end for Green Oaks Magnet School in Shreveport, La.

Carter has scholarship offers from the likes of Arizona State, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi State, OU, Southern Miss, and, of course, Oklahoma State where he made an unofficial visit on Saturday to watch the 24-10 Homecoming win over TCU.

"It was wonderful," said Carter. "It was exciting to watch the players battle and I was on the field before the game watching the linemen up close warm-up. From my seat I got to see everything. I got to see all the facilities and see inside the locker room and meet the players."

After the game, Carter said he was able to spend time with some of the coaches including head coach Mike Gundy.

"I was there to meet the coaching staff, and I sat down and talked with coach (Tim) Duffie and then I was able to sit down and have a one-on-one with the head coach, coach Gundy," Carter said.

"He told me he was very interested to meet me and that he wanted to talk to me because he wanted me there. It was exciting to hear a head coach tell me those kind of things."

Carter said he plans to narrow his choices down and make his official visits. He said he would let us know when he makes those decisions and then after he takes his visits he said he would make his school choice. In the meantime, he has an important game to play this Friday.
