Anderson Eliminates Oklahoma State

New Orleans (O. Perry Walker), La., offensive lineman Alex Anderson (6-4, 290) at one time looked ready to ditch his Arizona State commitment and sign on with Oklahoma State. But he has now finalized his itinerary for this weekend and the Cowboys aren't on it, but the new home of offensive line coach Joe Wickline is up for a visit.

"Yeah, goin to see both schools," Anderson said via a text Wednesday morning when asked where he would visit. "Just Texas and ASU."

Anderson discussed it with his mother on Tuesday evening before making his mind up on visits. He is a mid-year enrollee, so Anderson will visit Arizona State on Thursday when the dead period in recruiting ends and then go from Tempe, Ariz., to Austin, Texas to visit the Longhorns.

Arizona State reportedly made it a rush to deliver the news to Anderson last weekend of Wickline's departure from Mike Gundy's staff at OSU to the new staff with Charlie Strong at Texas. Now, it appears the Sun Devils will have to out-recruit Texas to keep Anderson on their commitment list and have him check into school next Tuesday.

The big offensive lineman said it would be one or the other, and the decision will come right on the heels of his visits.
