Keenen Brown Likes Cowboys Coaching Staff

Alief Taylor's Keenen Brown, one of the top-rated wide receiver recruits in Texas, was part of the huge official visit weekend that Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy and his staff staged this weekend. The Cowboys hosted 18 recruits, all of them Cowboys commitments prior to making the visit. It was more of a "meet your class" weekend than it was you typical recruiting weekend.

"I went up there with my Mom and Dad," said the 6-3, 190-pound Brown. "It went pretty good, and I like the school and everything. I like how the coaches are. They all seem cool and it is a nice program and the whole football staff talks about wanting you to make something out of yourself, not just the next level, but make a special person out of each guy."

Brown was hosted by Jhajuan Seales, a receiver who had a breakout season as a redshirt freshman this past season. Brown said he was able to relate to Seales and the other receivers.

Brown committed to OSU in August before the start of his senior season. He went on to catch 57 passes for 918 yards (16.1 ypr) and nine touchdowns. Those numbers topped impressive stats from his junior and sophomore seasons at Taylor.

The Cowboys were able to beat a number of good schools in the recruitment of Brown as he was offered by Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Michigan State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, Wisconsin and others.
