Williams Happy To Be Recruited By Henderson

New Orleans (Edna Karr), La., defensive lineman Joyan Williams was on his way back to New Orleans after his official visit this weekend. We caught up with Williams while he was sitting in Love Field in Dallas connecting back to New Orleans.

"It was wonderful, amazing," said the 6-2 1/2, and 270-pound Williams. "It was everything I imagined it would be. It was all good.

"My host was Vincent Taylor (redshirt freshman defensive tackle from San Antonio Madison). We did a lot of stuff and we went to a house party. It was all fun and I got to meet a lot of guys in my class and on the team."

Williams, who along with his teammates at Edna Karr finished as the runner-up in Class 4A in Louisiana, said all is well with him academically.

"Yes, everything is good and I am qualified," Williams said and added that was a relief.

Williams also said it is special and almost an honor to have been recruited to Oklahoma State by former Edna Karr graduate and NFL defensive end Eric Henderson, who is now a graduate assistant for the Cowboys.

"It's pretty cool because when you get to Karr he is the one that holds all the old records (sacks and tackles for losses) and you wonder who that is," said Williams. "Now I know because he is the one that is recruiting you. It's a big opportunity to meet him and get to know him."

Williams said this weekend absolutely confirmed for him that he made the right choice with Oklahoma State.
