Roberts Enjoyed Getting To Know Teammates

Trey Roberts says the highlight of Oklahoma State's monster recruiting weekend was meeting and getting to know his future teammates. The 6-1, 190-pound standout from Eisenhower High School in Houston was one of 18 members of the Cowboys recruiting class that made their official visits this past weekend.

"It was great. I had a lot of fun, and got to meet the players and got to meet the coaches," said Roberts, who played quarterback and receiver this past high school season but was recruited as a safety by the Cowboys.

"I believe we have a great recruiting class coming in, and the next four or five years are going to be awesome," said Roberts, who had 856 total yards for the Eagles. He threw for 188 passing yards and one touchdown, rushed 41 times for 234 yards and three TDs, and caught a team-best 18 passes for 434 yards (an average of 24 yards per catch) and five scores.

Roberts, who was hosted by current Cowboys safety Tre Flowers, enjoyed spending time with OSU defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer.

"I got to visit some with coach Spencer. I liked him. I'm glad he's going to be the coach on my side of the ball," he said. "He was real with me. He told me that it wasn't going to be a cakewalk coming in, and I need to put my mind to it and make the best of the opportunity."

Roberts said he plans to be in Stillwater on June 2 for the beginning of the summer semester.
