Mbanasor Heading To Oklahoma This Weekend

Standout cornerback P.J. Mbanasor of Pflugerville (Hendrickson), Texas made an early commitment in January to the TCU Horned Frogs. But that has not slowed down his recruiting at all, and maybe even sped things up as since then with Arkansas, Baylor, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech making scholarship offers to the 6-2, 182-pound athletic standout.

"Recruiting is going pretty good," said Mbanasor in a slight understatement. "This next weekend I'm going up to Oklahoma to visit OU, OSU, and then over to Arkansas."

Mbanasor had a strong junior season in earning first team All-District 16-5A honors. He told me the spring is going to be pretty busy as well.

"Yes sir, I'm going to be competing in track," Mbanasor added. "I run the 110 hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, and the 4x4 relay."

While committed to TCU, Mbanasor does not seem to be slowing down and he said his parents are not stuck on him staying inside Texas.

"My parents don't mind (me going away from home or leaving the state). They want the best opportunity for me," Mbanasor explained. "I'm looking for the best facilities, and a coaching staff that is very good and can develop me as a player, teammates that I can be close to and feel a part of. As far as academics, I know I want to study business and entrepreneurship."

Welcome to the way of the recruiting world in 2014. It is not bad to have a spot reserved even while you are seeing where the grass is greener.
