Settle, who has already visited Alabama and will check out Oklahoma this weekend as well, is 6-3, 310 pounds, and he is very impressive in person with strength you can see.
Last season he made 95 tackles, 32 tackles for loss, and five sacks in earning multiple high school All-America honors. His sophomore season, Settle finished with 72 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, three sacks, five passes deflected, and two fumbles recovered.
Watching Settle on tape you can see his explosion off the ball and in contact with offensive linemen. His strength is his biggest weapon, although he has quick feet for a 300-plus pound inside player on the defensive line. His best attribute mentally is his drive as he displays a strong motor and does not take many, if any plays off. He plays very hard and that is a mental talent.
It all adds up because besides Oklahoma State, Alabama, and Oklahoma, he has offers from the likes of Clamson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, and Virginia Tech.
Settle is being recruited by defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer and defensive line coach Joe Bob Clements. Head coach Mike Gundy is said to be taking an active role in Settle's recruiting, as he did working with running backs coach Jemal Singleton in recruiting Ronald Jones.
