Standout Linebacker Moore Liked OSU

While most of the colleges have finished spring, the high schools are just getting ready to begin. College coaches are now catching the high school stars in spring action. Richard Moore is one of the most action-oriented defenders you will find as the Cedar Hill linebacker is not all that big but at 6-1, 205 pounds he flies around and makes a lot of plays. That has led to a lot of offers.

"Yes sir, I haven't added any offers in the last two weeks," Moore said when asked about his growing recruiting dance card. " I think Washington was my last one (offer). I know it is always a surprise to me and I get the same feeling each time as when I got the first offer (Baylor). I just think it is a blessing that these schools want me to play football for them."

Of course they do. What school would not want a heat seeking linebacker that had 182 tackles last season including 31 of those behind the line of scrimmage? He also had eight sacks, broke up a number of passes, and forced a fumble.

Arizona State, Colorado, Houston, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Texas, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and UTSA have all offered, along with the aforementioned Baylor, Washington and Oklahoma State.

"I liked Oklahoma State. In fact, it was exactly what I thought it would be," Moore said of the visit he made to Stillwater on Orange Blitz Saturday. "I had talked to our quarterback (at Cedar Hill) Justin McMillan and he had been up there and told me about it and that he loved it. I thought it was great and I had a good time. I spent a lot of time with coach (Glenn) Spencer and talked with coach (Mike) Gundy."

Moore said he is focused on spring football for now which will begin on Monday. Then this summer he said he will take a few visits because he needs to stay ahead of the game in recruiting since he will graduate at Cedar Hill in December and be a mid-year enrollee at his college choice.

"I need to know everything I can about the schools and be ready to make my choice early," Moore added.
