Good News On Zach Fish

OKLAHOMA CITY - Good news on Big 12 Player of the Year Zach Fish of Oklahoma State. The standout junior from Kalamazoo, Mich., was with his teammates in the dugout Saturday during the Cowboys 3-1 win over Texas in the first championship game in the bracket, forcing a second game.

Fish was in a boot immobilizing his right ankle that he injured sliding into second base during Friday night's 11-8 win over Oklahoma.

All x-rays were negative, according to a team source. We were also told that Fish felt he could pinch hit or even DH on Sunday if the Cowboys were in the championship game of the Big 12 Tournament.

The word is that head coach Josh Holliday will probably rest Fish the rest of the weekend with the focus of treatment on the ankle for the Cowboys home run (11) and RBI (44) leader. The focus is to get him ready for a regional next week likely to start on Friday at Allie Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater.
