Now add Oklahoma State as Patterson was impressive throwing the football in the camp. He has a strong arm and a classic release. His speed was okay but his pro agility time was 4.28. Last season he completed 138 of 223 passes for 2,655 yards with a very strong 34 touchdown passes and just four interceptions.
Chandler Garrett of Mustang, Okla., is 6-3, 200 pounds and ran a 4.86. He lists OSU, OU, and Tulsa as schools he is interested in. He completed 156 of 223 passes last season for 1,683 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Other quarterbacks of interest in the 2016 class included Cameron Lewis of Monroe (Wossman), La. He was an All-District 2-4A performer as a sophomore last season. He is 6-1, 187 pounds and ran a 4.59 at the camp.
Dakota Roush threw with the top group and performed well. He is the starting quarterback at Tulsa Holland Hall and is the nephew of former OSU and current PGA golfer Bo Van Pelt. He is athletic.
Douglass High School quarterback Patrick McKaufman was at Rockwall last Sunday for the Mary Hardin-Baylor Elite Camp that the OSU coaches worked at. He was back for more on Saturday and the 6-5, 180-pound McKaufman threw the ball well in the top group.
One of the top junior running backs in the country is Taven Birdow, the son of former Oklahoma State Cowboy Jermaine Birdow. Taven is 5-11, 205 pounds and last season for Altus (Okla.) High School he carried 204 times for 1,796 yards and 16 touchdowns. Tulsa has offered. He is a good looking prospect.
Jeremy Lewis is a 6-0, 177-pound back from Lone Grove, Okla., and he rushed for 1,727 yards and 23 touchdowns last season. He ran a 4.5 flat in the forty and had a 9'5" broad jump. He also ran a 11.28 in the 100 meters this spring in track.
Tre Turner is from New Orleans (Holy Cross), La. At 5-8, 186 pounds, he ran a 4.38 in the forty and a 4.73 in the pro agility. Arizona State, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Mississippi, Houston, Missouri, SMU, Southern Miss, and Tulane have all offered.
Devon Benn out of River Ridge (John Curtis), La., has a similar list with Tulsa, Texas A&M, Mississippi, LSU, Louisiana Monroe, and Louisiana Lafayette all lined up for the 5-9, 172-pounder. Benn ran a 4.5 and a 4.42 in the pro agility.
The final 2016 prospect at running back was Ian Rudzik out of Ulysses, Kansas. He is 6-1, 209 pounds and ran a 4.7. His rushing numbers get you to take note with 206 carries for 1,987 yards and 26 touchdowns.
Wide receiver was a senior dominated position on Saturday. Jared Wyatt out of Wylie East in Texas, the same high school that brought Marcell Ateman to Oklahoma State, had 939 receiving yards and 12 touchdown catches last season. Heis 6-1 1/2, 174 pounds and he ran a 4.57 in the forty with a 4.28 in the pro agility. He broad jumped 9'5".
The lone junior-to-be offensive lineman was Samuel Williams out of Bearden, Ark. A big kid at 6-5 3/4 and 283 pounds, Williams lists Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma State, and Texas as his favorites.
On the defensive side, Houston St. Thomas defensive tackle LOrenzo Neal is 6-1 1/2, 310 pounds. Defensive end Andre Anthony is out of New Orleans (Miller McCoy Academy), La. He is 6-3, 202 pounds and ran a 4.8 in the forty with a 4.65 in the pro agility. He lists Oklahoma State, Louisiana Lafayette, Tulane, Central Florida, and LSU as his schools.
Jalen Lynch is a 6-2, 250-pound defensive end at Dallas (St. Marks), Texas. He is also a basketball player and it makes sense as his dad is former NBA player George Lynch.
Linebacker is where the Cowboys seemed really interested in making progress in the 2016 class as Giovanni LaFrance out of Slidell Salmon has an OSU offer, so does Dontavious Jackson out of Alief Elsik in Houston.
Lafrance is 6-0, 222 pounds and an inside backer who is really talented. Add Alabama, Florida, Miami, and USC to his list. He ran a 4.7 in the forty.
Jackson is a 6-1 1/2, 238-pound inside linebacker who has also been offered by Louisville and was the District 18-5A Defensive Newcomer of the Year last season.
Devin White is another OSU target at linebacker out of Spring Hill (North Webster), La. He is a 6-0, 247-pound former running back that last season rushed for 1,094 yards while also totaling 99 tackles playing linebacker. Alabama, Louisiana Lafayette, LSU, Mississippi, Nebraska, and Tulane have all offered too.
Deontre Hardwick is a 6-0, 229-pound linebacker who had 83 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, an interception, two fumbles caused, and a fumble recovered and returned for a touchdown. He ran a 4.8 in the camp and a 4.6 in the pro agility.
Malik Antoine is a safety who also has an OSU offer. The 5-10, 175-pound Antoine is from Baton Rouge University Lab High School in the shadows of LSU. Akron, California, and Louisiana Lafayette have also offered.
I really like C.J. Morgan out of Bossier City (Parkway), La. I also met his dad, Courtney Walker of Varsity Preps in Louisiana. He has a bunch of offers including California, Louisiana Lafayette, Mississippi State, Nebraska, San Diego State, Southern Miss, and UCLA. OSU could be added soon. Morgan is 5-10, 175 and ran a 4.5, broad jumped over 10 feet, and ran a 4.4 in the pro agility.
A pair of other 2016 defensive backs in Stillwater were Oklahoma City Casady School's Max Wariboko, who has an older brother that is a top-flight offensive line prospect. Coney Durr was there from Geismer (Dutchtown), La., and he is a 5-9, 175-pound cornerback prospect.
