Clinton (OK) running back Marquiz Simpkins' recruitment is starting to head in the right direction for him. Four offers have rolled in and he's content with the trajectory it has taken.
"My recruitment is on the right track," he said. "I can see it taking off more, now. I ran a 4.35 forty at Oklahoma State camp. I've received offers from Tulsa, South Dakota, New Mexico and Southern Mississippi. None of them are standing out and I'm focused on getting more. It feels great to have the offers I do, though."
"More could be on the way," Simpkins added. "Arkansas has been in a lot more contact lately."
Simpkins discussed the feedback he received after camping in Stillwater.
"They told me I had a good camp," he noted. "They like my speed and my hands. I need to work more on my footwork. They asked me if I'd like to play there. I took that as a great sign of things to come. I told them that I did, of course. That's the one offer I'd really like to have."
"I really like their campus," Simpkins continued. "They've always been my favorite team. I really like their facilities, and the coaches are cool. They like me as a running back."
Another camp appearance is on tap for the rising senior from Oklahoma.
"I'm looking at a visit to Texas Tech," Simpkins pointed out. "I am going to camp there and it will be my first time there. I haven't spoke to them much but I hope that changes. I aim to impress them."
