Big 12 Media Snubs Cowboys On Preseason Team

The Big 12 Conference office released the annual preseason all-conference team on Wednesday and just a year after selecting the Oklahoma State Cowboys as the summer favorite to win the league, the Big 12 media members voting could not find a single Cowboy player worthy of preseason All-Big 12. There were no Cowboys on the all-conference team.

However, the media did vote a new Cowboy, Garden City (Kan.) C.C. speedster and Big 12 Indoor 200 meter track champion Tyreek Hill, as the Preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.

The media voted Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty as the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and TCU defensive end Devonte Fields as the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. On my ballot listed here over a week ago, I voted for Hill as the Newcomer, Petty as the Offensive player, and OU linebacker Eric Striker as the Defensive player.

Below is the entire team and in parenthesis the players I voted for when there was a difference in my vote and that of the consensus of the league media.
