Junior College Lineman Visiting OSU

Zach Bateman did confirm Thursday night that he will be making an official visit this weekend to Oklahoma State. The 6-6, 310-pound Bateman seemed to be looking forward to it.

"We are in a bye week, so it was a good time to take a visit," said Bateman, who confirmed that he grew up his entire life in California playing at Orange Coast College after attending nearby Estancia High School in Costa Mesa.

"I really haven't thought about what I want to see. I guess I want to see the campus, the stadium, the weight room. I know coach (Bob) Connelly has set up an offensive lineman to host me and after the game I'm wanting to hang out with those guys and see what they do in Stillwater."

Bateman shows on tape as a solid run blocker and an very good pass protector with his frame and long arms factoring into his success at protecting the quarterback.

He is considering UCLA, Ohio State, Arizona State, Florida, and Oklahoma State in his final five and that shows he is open to leaving the Golden State since UCLA is the only in-state school he has in his final group.

He added that he is looking to major in communications in school and Oklahoma State has that to offer.
