Settle: 'I Had A Great Time' At OSU

We finally got in touch with Manassas (Stonewall Jackson) defensive tackle Tim Settle following his visit last weekend to Stillwater and Oklahoma State. The five-star standout defensive tackle is set to receive his Under Armour All-American Game jersey and official invitation this Friday before the Stonewall Jackson Raiders take on Haymarket (Battlefield) later that evening.

The 6-3, 325-pound Settle started his official visit weekend to Oklahoma State in fine fashion last Thursday as he and his Raiders teammates went to 4-2 on the season with a 14-12 win over Freedom. Settle help set up a score with a blocked punt that was recovered by a teammate and later turned into a touchdown by the Raiders offense.

Settle then left for Stillwater where he arrived Friday evening and was shown around by several of the Cowboys, including freshman defensive end Trey Carter, veteran Jimmy Bean, and also Vili Leveni. He is being recruited by Cowboys defensive line coach Joe Bob Clements.

"I had a great time," Settle texted to Go Pokes. "I love the football staff and they are all great people down there. The town is beautiful."

Settle sent out a tweet on his Twitter account with an Instagram link to a picture of him holding up an Oklahoma State game jersey #70.

He also confirmed for us via text that he has a close relative in Oklahoma. "I have a uncle that lives down there," he texted.

His uncles lives in the Edmond and north OKC vicinity and is close. That could obviously help in recruiting.

Settle has already visited Virginia Tech on an official visit and is scheduled to make an official visit to West Virginia on Oct. 18. Penn State, UCLA, and Tennessee are other schools he is considering. He has also said he will make an announcement on his college choice on Dec. 20.

He is having a good season this fall. Last year as a junior, he was outstanding with 72 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, three sacks, five passes deflected, and two fumble recoveries.
