OSU Coaches Checking Commits, Prospects

This weekend's trip to the DFW Metroplex will allow Oklahoma State coaches to see some of the area players that are either committed to the Cowboys 2015 recruiting class or are prospects for the 2015 or 2016 recruiting classes.

The coaching staff will use Friday as an evaluation date, and one of the most important spectators will be running backs coach Jemal Singleton, who will be watching Ronald Jones in a rivalry contest as his McKinney North team takes on McKinney.

The very talented Jones has 878 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 82 carries this season for an average of 10.7 yards a carry. McKinney North is 5-1-1 on the season and 2-1 in district play. Jones committed to Oklahoma State this summer and while he has said he is solid in his pledge it is known some schools including Texas A&M and Southern Cal continue to try to sway Jones away from the Cowboys.

It is likely that Joe Bob Clements will be at Mansfield Legacy to see Taaj Bakari as the defensive tackle commitment and his teammates will host Lancaster. Legacy is 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in district play.

Time Duffie will likely be at Midlothian to see Cowboy commitment and Duncanville linebacker Za'Carrius Green. Green and the Duncanville Panthers are 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in district.

There are others that could possibly be evaluated although it would be unusual for either of the Oklahoma State coordinators in Glenn Spencer or Mike Yurcich to be out.
