Top Prospects To Visit On Nov. 15

The Texas game is a huge one for Oklahoma State as the Cowboys will look to break a rare three-game losing streak, something that has happened only three times in head coach Mike Gundy's tenure. At least 10 official visitors will be in Stillwater, including wide receiver prospect Tyron Johnson of Warren Easton Charter School in New Orleans and safety commitment Kenneth McGruder from Alief Taylor.

Johnson has already visited Texas Tech ( Oct. 11) and he was scheduled to visit Oregon last weekend but did not make that visit as his high school implemented a visit rule in season. That rule may or may not impact his visit to Oklahoma State as the 9-2/3-0 Warren Easton Eagles should make the playoffs easily. They play New Orleans Karr on Friday night.

This season the 6-1, 190-pound Johnson has 58 receptions for 1,090 yards and 14 touchdowns. Johnson has a slew of offers that also include favorites like Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Oregon, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M.

Our good friend Ahrmard Vital, who is the recruiting source in the Houston area for Scout, confirmed with the 6-2, 200-pound McGruder that his intentions are to visit Oklahoma State a week from Saturday for that game with Texas.

"I should be (visiting for that game)," McGruder told Vital. "I'm about to call the coach now and make it official."

McGruder and his Alief Taylor teammates finish the regular season on Friday night with Fort Bend Clements. Taylor is 5-4 and 4-3 in district play.

Now we said we had as many as 10 prospects expected to visit for the Texas game. Our list also includes East Mississippi QB/Athlete Todd Mays, who is verbally committed to OSU; Encino (Crespi), Calif., offensive linemen Vaimoe Sekona, also committed; Tyler Junior College defensive lineman Montekiai Maihe, another commitment; committed safety/star linebacker prospect Za'Carrius Green of Duncanville, Texas; and then uncommitted prospects like Blinn C.C. wide receiver Dede Westbrook, Arizona Western offensive tackle Glen Bethel; Salt Lake City (East), Utah linebacker Christian Folau, and Missouri City (Marshall), Texas offensive lineman Sam Awolope.
