Ware Looking Forward To State Showdown

Aca'cedric Ware has had a monster season for Cedar Hill. The campaign for the 5-11, 200-pound back that combines speed and power will come in a showdown game at 4 p.m. Saturday at AT&T Stadium against Katy and standout running back Rodney Anderson. Ware comes in with the 13-2 Longhorns with 2,417 rushing yards. The workhorse averaged 8.7 yards per carry and has scored 34 touchdowns this season.

"I can't wait," Ware said for Saturday. "It's our goal and we have a chance to get it. They're a good team and we'll have to be our best."

Cedar Hill has had some challenges this season like when they fell behind and came back to win 65-52 in one of the craziest games you'll ever see against district and neighboring rival DeSoto.

"It was crazy," Ware said of that game where he was named the Offensive Player of the Game for the Longhorns with four rushing touchdowns. "It was nice to play in a game like that with all that talent on the field."

Ware has been committed to USC since back in the summer but he confirmed that he is still being recruited by Iowa, Oklahoma State, and Arkansas. Oklahoma State just offered but he is looking forward to talking to them more after the championship game Saturday.

"Yes sir, I committed to USC this summer mainly to get it out of the way and concentrate on this upcoming season. It wasn't that I was looking to leave Texas or get away but I felt more comfortable at USC. I would say I'm solid but I'm still talking to other schools that want to talk to me," he said.

Southern Cal is actually one of the schools that has Oklahoma State looking at other options at running back as former OSU commit Ronald Jones II from McKinney North visited USC and Notre Dame before announcing last Sunday he was opening up his recruiting.

Again, you can see Ware as he will add to his already impressive season and career numbers (3,706 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns) at 4 p.m. Saturday in the 6A title game against Katy.
