Carson Says He Is Checking His Options

It's not often that a premier junior college back is still looking around at this stage on the recruiting calendar but Chris Carson from Butler County C.C. is committed to Georgia. He is a Georgia native out of Parkview High School in Lilburn. Georgia is a big deal to Carson, but so is his goal.

"I'm committed to Georgia, but I've heard from a lot of schools. Illinois offered today and there is Louisville, Wisconsin, and of course, Oklahoma State," Carson stated over the phone.

"I want to make sure that UGA is the right place for me. I want to get to the NFL, so I'm looking for the right place that will give me the best chance."

Carson has one math class he needs to take care of this spring and then he can move on to that next level.

As far as a runner, he is plenty qualified to move up and possibly move eventually to the NFL. He is 6-2, 210 pounds with excellent speed. This past season he rushed 139 times for 974 yards with 9 touchdowns and a 7.2 yards per carry average. He also caught 12 passes for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He even completed a pass for 11 yards and a score.

"The head coach from Oklahoma State is going to visit me," he added. "Then I will decide where to visit. I'm thinking Louisville and Oklahoma State."

Carson said he will keep us posted on how things develop.
