What Are OSU's Chances With Young?

We've been unable to reach last weekend's official visitor for Oklahoma State in current Stanford senior Kelsey Young. The 5-10, 191-pound running back is looking to graduate in May and then make his way to another campus to play his final season of college football. Oklahoma State is still a little thin in the numbers at running back. From all we could tell the visit went fine with Young.

A computer science major, Young could find a plethora of options for an advanced degree that would fit with his bachelor's degree from Stanford.

He also would seem to be a fit in the offense with 66 carries for 331 rushing yards last season and a healthy 5.1 yards per carry average. He also caught five passes for 31 yards.

This season he has already been nominated to the Doak Walker Award Watch List. Young is a former 4-star recruit by Scout out of Norco, Calif., where he played for Coach Todd Gerhart, the father of former Stanford and current NFL running back Toby Gerhart. His senior season, Young rushed for 2,008 yards and 30 touchdowns. His junior season he had 1,767 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns.

Besides Oklahoma State, we learned he has also visited Fresno State and is set to visit Boise State where his younger brother, Cory, is a redshirt freshman running back for the Broncos. There is also evidence that Young will take a visit to Vanderbilt.

There is no timetable known on completing the visits or when he will make his decision on where he will play and go to graduate school.
