Big 12 Football: TCU New Look, Same Show

Remember when TCU came out a few years back with red in their uniform, blood red, like the blood that real life horned toads squirt out of their eye at their enemies. Well, Friday night at Amon Carter Stadium as Texas Christian closed out their spring football with a Friday Night Lights spring game, the Horned Frogs flashed new threads designed by Nike as purple and gray camouflage.

TCU football is huge, better than ever. Former TCU standout punter and now radio network analyst John Denton said the Frogs head coach Gary Patterson has become much less stubborn and much more open to new ideas.

It is part of the evolving that has led to Texas Christian being a football power in the Big 12. With early preseason polls picking them as high as number two in the nation, they are now being seen as a national player.
