There are three current spots locked in and I feel really strong about six or so of my guesses and wishes. Here is the debut of my list for the 2015 recruiting class for Oklahoma State football. Also, the total number of commits is also for the time being my guess on how many players the Cowboys will sign (but as we all know that too is a number that fluctuates).
Already Committed But Give Me Credit for These Guys (3)
Justice Hill, RB, 5-10, 185, Tulsa (Booker T. Washington), Okla. - He sure showed his prowess with speed and strength at the Nike Combine in Arlington. I really would have had this one.
Malik Kearse, CB, 6-1, 175, Fort Scott C.C., Kan./Opa-Locka (Monsignor Pace), Fla. - I wouldn't have guessed this one. He has good size, but honestly, I'd like to see the Cowboys take a second JC corner and you'll see.
Madre Harper, CB, 6-3, 170, Arlington (Lamar), Texas - I saw this young man at the Nike Opening Regional held at his own school and I really like him.
These Are My Best Selections in Terms of Accuracy (8)
Nick Starkel, QB, 6-4, 183, Argyle (Liberty Christian), Texas - I saw Starkel at the Nike Opening Regional and he is a fit for OSU. Great young man and has tremendous leadership qualities along with talent.
Camron Williams, WR, 6-3, 210, Dallas (First Baptist Academy), Texas - Williams (pictured above) is another prospect that I saw at the Nike Regional, and he is really a big target that would be a good fit at OSU.
Austin Anderson, OL, 6-4, 285, Mineola, Texas - One of two twin brothers (see Riley, next line) and Oklahoma State has a strong tradition of making the family aspect work with brothers on the team.
Riley Anderson, OL, 6-5, 285, Mineola, Texas - They are both very talented and athletic and will fit in nicely with the college town concept and personalities on the offensive line.
T.J. Fiailoa, OL, 6-4, 320, Lawton (MacArthur), Okla. - My favorite Oklahoma offensive line prospect in this class. He is of Polynesian descent, which will fit in well with the growing family of Polynesian players that are part of the Cowboys football program.
Alton Robinson, DE, 6-2 ½, 220, Converse (Judson), Texas - I saw him at Nike as well. He's a little small but has great quickness and the Cowboys can show him how they have grown defensive ends with examples like Jordan Brailford and Cole Walterscheid.
Sione Heimuli-Lund, LB, 6-0.5, 225, Salt Lake City (Brighton), Utah - Found out last week that Oklahoma State is very high, even tops on his list, and the happiness the Polynesian players have that are in the program is the major reason.
Clifton Lewis, LB, 6-1, 210, Fort Bend (Hightower), Texas - Lewis is a lot like his older brother Shaun, and he knows how well his brother's college experience turned out. Lewis is smarter and quicker than flat-out fast and he can achieve high in this defense.
Call This More the Wish List and Real Guessing List (7)
Terry Wilson, QB, 6-2, 180, Del City, Okla. - I know, Oklahoma State has not offered as of yet but I think they might and he could be a great second quarterback added to the class. He shined at Nike and is a different dimension of quarterback that would be perfect to replace J.W. Walsh as he prepares to graduate after next season.
Quan Hogan, RB, 6-0, 203, Norman (Norman North), Okla. - Cowboys have not offered as of yet and they that might be able to get Damarea Crockett out of Arkansas or Taven Birdow from IMG Academy, but Hogan is an Oklahoman and I like his size and ability to catch the football.
Adewale Omotosho, WR, 6-3, 180, Plano (Plano East), Texas - Another player that I saw at the Nike Regional and he just looks like he would be a fit at OSU.
Rashard Lawrence, DT, 6-2, 305, Monroe (Neville), La. - Great personality and he is really tough playing with lots of leverage. You can expect that the Eric Henderson/Louisiana connection would be at work here.
Amani Bledsoe, DE, 6-5, 265, Lawrence, Kan. - I saw him first at Oklahoma State camp last summer and I think he may have been offered that day. He is a load and there will be lots of competition.
A.J. Green, CB, 6-1, 170, DeSoto, Texas - One of the earliest targets for Oklahoma State, he has visited with his parents this spring.
Maurice Chandler, CB, 6-1, 185, NEO A&M J.C./Lawton, Okla. - I know he is not even on the target list, but OU, Florida State, LSU and others have offered and his defensive coordinator and his position coach are both OSU grads. That doesn't guarantee anything but it can't hurt. Nebraska has offered too, and his head coach is a Husker grad.
