Breaking News: Jonathan Marshall Flips To OSU

The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the TCU Horned Frogs have had some head-to-head recruiting battles in the past but none may be as interesting as that involving Jonathan Marshall of Shepherd, Texas. The longtime TCU pledge de-committed on Tuesday night, and then on Wednesday gave a verbal to Oklahoma State. But you can bet the Horned Frogs won't let the four-star defensive end go without a fight.

"I had discussed it with my family and we decided that Oklahoma State was the best place for me to go," Marshall said when we finally reached him in the noon hour on Wednesday.

Marshall had pledged to TCU very early in the process with, at the time, offers from Oklahoma State, North Texas, Nebraska, and Marshall in addition to the Horned Frogs.

Marshall's status as a recruit and prospect has only risen since as he is considered a four-star defensive end by the Scout recruiting staff. His 2013 football stats certainly reflect an explosive player and pass rusher on the defensive front with 39 total tackles, 22 tackles for loss, and five sacks. His tape from last season shows a lot more sacks and he seemingly gets in the opponents' backfield with the greatest of ease.

He is also a standout in basketball that showed his overall athletic ability with 11.9 points and 8.5 rebounds a game.
