Oklahoma State Defensive Depth Chart

Oklahoma State defensive depth chart

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State Cowboys are obviously seeing their head coach scale things back just a little in sensing that the team has hit a point where they are ready for a game. One Oklahoma State player told me that it is really getting tiresome going out to practice and that he and his teammates are really antsy to play the first game.

It is almost always that way this time of year and that is an area where the Cowboys coaching staff has excelled in not over practicing. Today was another one hour and 40 minute practice, this one in full pads. There was more work against scouts and the good on good team periods was pulled back a little.

Tomorrow Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy, coordinators Mike Yurcich on offense and Glenn Spencer on defense, and selected players will meet the media for the first game news conference. Central Michigan is an interesting opponent in that they have a new head coach John Bonamego, who came from the NFL where he was a special teams coordinator with the Detroit Lions, is an alum of CMU, and just finished a treatment program to fight tonsil cancer that has left him weakened. His team and that community will rally around him and the Chippewas football team.

Also, tomorrow the Oklahoma State team will go through an annual exercise that dates back to the Pat Jones days. It's a dress rehearsal mock game walk thru that will feature pregame warm-ups, coin toss, simulated plays, a weather delay, replays, headsets failure, an overtime period and anything else that could conceivably happen during  game.

Now to finish our exercise of putting out our estimated depth chart, here is the defense and the specialists.
