Oklahoma State Ready To Settle With Joe Wickline

Oklahoma State and former offensive line coach Joe Wickline may be nearing a settlement of the lawsuit filed by OSU against the Texas coach when he left to join Charlie Strong's staff a year ago.

Oklahoma State representatives made a strong effort and reportedly a very fair offer in attempting to settle the Joe Wickline contract dispute this summer and were greeted with a counteroffer that lacked any seriousness to it.

Now Horn's Digest and the outstanding reporting at that Scout.com site including Chip Brown have learned the University of Texas has stepped in and wants to see the potential distraction for Wickline and the football staff go away. Gopokes.com Senior Editor Robert Allen reports in a Scout Now update that his sources and his opinion have Oklahoma State primarily looking to make sure their contracts with coaches stand up in court and in the world of athletic business.
