Oklahoma State Commit Ryan McCollum Will Make Homecoming Game

Oklahoma State offensive line commit Ryan McCollum tells GoPokes.com that he will be flying into Stillwater on Saturday for the Homecoming game against Kansas

So many times Oklahoma State ends up with those three-star recruits that eventually end up in Stillwater and wind up playing like four or five-star type prospects. That hasn't happened as often lately on the offensive line, but on August 2 the Cowboys received a pledge from Klein Oak High School offensive tackle Ryan McCollum.

Hiis senior highlight tape from the seven games so far this season sure looks like he has a chance to pull off that "play above your recruiting stars feat." McCullom also reports that after Klein Oak's rivalry showdown on Friday night he and his parents will catch a morning flight and make it to Oklahoma State's homecoming game on Saturday at 2:30 pm against Kansas.

"Yes, we play Friday night and then we are getting up early and catching a flight and will be up there for the game," McCullom confirmed.

Klein Oak is 5-2 on the season and 2-2 in District 15-6A.

"If we win the game with Klein and then win the next week, then we clinch a playoff spot," McCullom said. "We need to win those two games."

Above is a link to McCullom's senior highlight video and the 6-6, 275-pound tackle shows a lot of athleticism and also  good amount of strength. The first play he is pulling across in a "dart" look and it works big as McCullom literally knocks the defender airborne.

"They like to use me in space because I am the fastest of the offensive linemen," McCullom explained. "I'm really comfortable blocking in space and on the run."

He is also good in tight quarters as several plays show McCullom driving defenders downfield further than the play goes or driving them across the field and past the hole. You'll like what you see.
