After leading 17-7 at halftime using a powerful run game and dominating the line of scrimmage Friday night, the Oklahoma City John Marshall Bears had to scratch and claw with city and district rival Douglass in the second half. Douglass surged back to take a 21-17 lead before the Bears drove to an early fourth quarter score to reclaim the lead and then used a red-zone stand and a fourth-down stop to get the ball back and put the 31-21 win away.
John Marshall is led up front by one of the most sought after linemen in Oklahoma in some years as 6-6, 340-pound Tramonda Moore is a two-way dominant player.
Moore, who recently made his first official visit checking out Missouri, spoke with Scout and Go Pokes after the game. He talked about the defensive stand, about John Marshall under the resurgence started and continued by former Oklahoma State All-American wide receiver and now Bears head coach Rashaun Woods, and he spoke about his recruiting.
Moore is heading to UCLA next weekend for another official visit. He said he will take all of his official visits, and they will all be to out-of-state schools, as he will handle seeing OSU and OU on his own. My guess is that Alabama and Florida State will also get official visits and the fifth could be one of several schools.
He also said he will wait on a decision until close to signing day, but if he does decided to commit earlier than that then it will come in San Antonio at the U.S. Army All-American Game, which he has been chosen to participate in.
Finally, as for Saturday and where Moore will be, Stillwater or Norman, he made it a mystery. We'll know on Saturday and will let you know.
