OSU Homecoming A Good Day To Recruit

Tramonda Moore is one of the most-sought recruits attending Oklahoma State's game against Kansas on Saturday.

There is no doubt that the mood in Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday was more solemn than normal, much more solemn than a typical homecoming. But Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy and his staff made the most of some 60 recruits, 56 by our count although we were told there were more there including possibly Edmond Santa Fe safety standout Calvin Bundage.

The tragedy at the end of the homecoming parade certainly impacted the day, but Gundy and the recruiting staff including coordinator Johnny Barr, assistant Mike Groce, and director of player development Beni Tonga made sure the prospects attending had a good time. The Twitter messages posted by the recruits were all positive. It was also a scene after the game in the locker room where coaches and current players hugged and mingled with the prospects after they heard Mike Gundy's postgame comments and the team singing the fight song.

You often hear recruits talk about seeing, recognizing or looking for the family atmosphere and attitude. This is an example of that. Just by being in attendance and seeing the football program dealing with a tragedy on campus and seeing how they react and care for the school, their fans, and each other is a positive image and feeling for young men looking to decide which team they want to be a part of and where they want to attend school. They saw the Oklahoma State family camaraderie up close on Saturday.

The mystery of where Oklahoma City John Marshall offensive/defensive tackle Tramonda Moore would end up watching a football game on Saturday was answered as he was in Stillwater, along with teammate and junior cornerback Justin Broiles. That is a huge positive for the Cowboys as Moore is a huge talented prospect who will visit some top schools with his official visits, while seeing the two state schools on his own. He has been to Oklahoma State multiple times.

Here is the list of prospects attending Saturday's game that we saw and recorded with our pregame list. We divide it into players that are committed and/or offered. The other group is the list of players attending that have not been offered.
