"I'm sorry but I've lost my voice. It was a really exciting game yesterday," said Oklahoma State cornerback commit Madre Harper of Arlington (Lamar), Texas while answering the phone on Sunday afternoon.
The 6-3, 175-pound cornerback confirmed that he will enroll at Oklahoma State in January, so he made his official visit for the TCU game before the playoffs start for he and his Vikings teammates next weekend. Lamar was 9-1 in the regular season and 6-1 in their district. On the season Harper, at last check, had 30 tackles, 21 unassisted with an interception.
"We open up with Abilene, Abilene High School. They beat us last year, but this year we get them at our place instead of going out to West Texas," Harper said. "We are 9-1 and I am going as hard as ever because I want to show why I belong in Division I."
As for the visit in Stillwater, Harper, who said his host was redshirt freshman safety Bryce Balous, said he had a "great time." He said he got to hang out with the guys and there was no doubt for him from the game to all of his visit experience that he picked out the right school and was really happy. Now he'd like to get happy with some wins in the playoffs.
