GoPokes TV: L.D. Brown Talks Official Visit

Oklahoma State commit LD Brown, the standout running back from DeSoto, Texas, was one of many prospects making official visits to OSU this weekend.

They say good things come in small packages and L.D. Brown of DeSoto, Texas isn't small by running back standards. For a speed back that consistently clocks in the mid-4.4, he is okay. But he played big this season earning first team all-district honors in one of the toughest districts in Class 6A in Texas, rolling for over 800 yards and a per carry average of almost 8.0-yards per carry with 12 touchdowns. He proved some things this season.

"The first three games, [we were] oh and three, but I was trying to lead my team as a senior and being a captain as well and I tried to do everything that I could do to put my team in the best situation," Brown said. "I did feel like I had something to prove and I need to give credit to my strength coach because it was the South Oak Cliff game where I broke out and was busting runs and you could hear him on the sidelines, 'break their will,' he was saying. It was a turning point for me."

Brown said his official visit to Oklahoma State went just they way he pictured this weekend.

"It went great, everything like I expected," Brown said. "The people (stood out) and the coaches as they were always asking do you need something or do you want something and they stayed on us about that. It showed that they really care."

Now, here is another aspect of L.D. Brown I really like. Asked about staying with his commitment, which he and DeSoto teammate and cornerback A.J. Green did, and you have to like his answer.

"Basically, that this is a strong program and flipping (commitment) on them would be like backstabbing," Brown stated. "They had a chance to offer me a big time scholarship, so why would I change my mind."
