Oklahoma State is getting a jump on recruiting for its 2017 football class this weekend when more than 80 prospects, primarily high school juniors and a few sophomores, and their parents made the trip to Stillwater.
Many of the high school players making the trip to Stillwater were from Oklahoma and Texas but the Cowboys also hosted players from Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Georgia.
Some of the top 2017 prospects visiting OSU for Junior Day were Tyler Fannin, a 6-3, 290-pound offensive lineman from Hoschton (Mill Creek ), Ga.; Kai Lemons, a 6-0, 180-pound wide receiver from Derby, Kan.; Reese Leitao, a 6-3, 210-pound tight end from Jenks, Okla., and Justin Broiles, a 6-0, 170-pound defensive back from Oklahoma City (John Marshall).
The Cowboys picked up their first verbal commitment for the 2017 class a few weeks ago from 5-11, 195-pound safety Ty Thomas from Lubbock (Cooper), Texas. Thomas also made the trip form Lubbock to Stillwater this weekend.
