Bundage Says He's Still Trying To Decide

Calvin Bundage has made all of his official visits and is now trying to decide between Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon.

Edmond (Santa Fe), Okla., standout safety Calvin Bundage has time to chill this weekend and think about his future. His official visits have been extinguished with his last trip to Arkansas last weekend.

He has been to Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Arizona State, and Oregon for his five officials. Bundage says all five have him pegged as a future college hybrid safety/linebacker like the Oklahoma State "star" position which Cowboys defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer is recruiting the 6-3, 200-pounder to play.

Bundage sounds very relaxed and we spent some time talking about high school teammates Mike Coats, who is heading to Lamar, and running back Darran Williams, who committed to NEO A&M J.C., where he will impress some people and move on to Division I.

"Yeah, he's a good player and that will be good for him," Bundage said as I agreed with my son, Zach, being the defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for the Norsemen.

More from Bundage and his situation, I asked how was Arkansas?

"It was good," he said as he also answered my question on if there were any guys close by that were on the trip to Fayetteville with him and there weren't. "The facilities are nice and I got to spend time, like the other schools, with the players and coaches. It was good."

Bundage, who had 81 tackles as a junior and trumped it this season with 90 total stops, said he is ready for this to come to a conclusion.

"I will have my announcement at 2:30 next Wednesday, a week from today, at Santa Fe," he said. "I know I will sign early that morning and send it in but I will keep it a mystery until my announcement."

I asked if all five schools he visited were still in it or if it were down to three, maybe two, and maybe just one.

"They change every day," Bundage said with a chuckle. I thought I heard a chuckle and he told me I could go with that quote.

This time of the recruiting season everybody is talking about finishing. Bundage and Bossier City (Parkway), La., quarterback Keondre Wudtee are the prime finishers for Oklahoma State. It may leak out but I am betting that it doesn't on Bundage. While I think we'll know on Wudtee before Signing Day, I bet Bundage will keep us guessing to the end.
