Looking for a top quarterback prospect on the Oklahoma State list? I would suggest Cam Roane, who has an Oklahoma State offer and readily admits that he has been to Stillwater for several games and other visits because he really likes it.
The reasons Oklahoma State should favor, and apparently do, the Colleyville Heritage signal caller is he possesses a good arm and is athletic and showed at The Opening Regional this past weekend that he is a natural leader and quickly gained the confidence of the receivers that were working with him.
Roane did not get an invite to The Opening but he was definitely in contention and he will have a chance to continue to be evaluated and added later in the process.
Part of that evaluation is what you did the last season in high school and Roane was 117-of-209 passing for 2,052 yards with 19 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He also ran for 404 yards and a pair of touchdowns. In his career he has thrown for 5,949 yards and 61 touchdowns with just 17 interceptions.
His recruiting is just now taking off and the positive for Oklahoma State besides his interest is that the Cowboys coaching staff was in on him early.
